Day 1 Arrival Bangkok
Arriving Bangkok, our guide will be at the airport to welcome you
& transfer you to your hotel. Afternoon city tour includes The Grand Palace, Funeral Hall, Wat Pra Kaew,
Wat Traimit, Wat Pho, Wat Benchamabopit & temple of Dawn plus a canal tour on a private boat.
Day 2 Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok
Full day visit to Ayutthaya - an ancient capital of Siam.
The tour includes wat Yai Chaimongkol, ancient palace Phra Srisanpetch ,
Wat Mongkol Borpit, The Bangpa in Summer Palace, afterward proceed to
Wat Pai Lom's peir to embark River King Cruise with lunch on broad.
Return to Bangkok.
Day 3 Bangkok
An early morning to see the famous Damnern Saduak
floating market & the largest pagodas. Lunch at Rose Garden followed by village culture show.
After dinner at the Riverside restaurant by the Bangkok River, an evening trip to see the popular
night market.
Day 4 Bangkok - Siem Reap
Transfer to airport for your flight
to Siem Reap, where our representative will meet you
at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After
lunch at a local restaurant, we take a boat trip &
enjoy the wonderful views of Tonlesap Great Lake and
also visit the beautiful Phnom Krom temple by the lakeside.
Evening at local restaurant with traditional Cambodian
dance performance on stage. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5 Angkor
Full day visit to the ancient royal
capital of Angkor Thom: Bayon Temple, Thommanon, Chau
Say Tevoda, Terrace of Elephants and Leper king and
Taprohm temple. Lunch. After
lunch we visit the 7th World heritage wonder, Angkor
Wat, and the Ta Som, Ta Keo, Pre Rup temples. Return
to town.
Day 6 Phnom Kulen
Our trip today is to Phnom Kulen ('Lychee
Mountain') where the 'river of 1000 lingas' features
thousands of carvings in the sandstone rocks under the
water. We also visit the Rock temple with a large reclining
Buddha, and take a picnic lunch by the waterfall. After
lunch we return to Siem Reap, calling at the oldest
temple in Angkor, Banteay Srei. This temple has the
best engravings among all the ruins.
Day 7 Phnom Penh
Transfer to airport for your flight to Phnom Penh, pick up &
transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour includes
Royal Place, Silver Pagoda, Raung Damrei Museum and
National Museum of Fine Arts, Independence monument
& National Garden Park.
Day 8 Phnom Penh
Today visit Toul Sleng Museum of Genocide and Killing Fields
Museum. Lunch at local restaurant, afternoon tour of
Central Market and Russian Market.
Day 9 Vientiane
Transfer to airport for your flight
to Vientiane, Laos. Our Laos agent will be at the airport
to welcome you & transfer you to your hotel. After
lunch in a local restaurant our city tour includes Wat
Hoprakeo, built in 1566 by King Setthathirat to house
the Emerald Buddha, Wat Sisaket, the only temple in
Vientiane that survived the destruction of the city
by the Siamese (Thai) in 1828; ThatLuang Stupa Museum
shrine (great Sacred Stupa) ,the most important national
monument in Vientiane, with a golden stupa believed
to contain a relic of Lord Buddha; Pratuxay Monument
situated in the centre of Vientiane prefecture, its
architecture inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris
and incorporating typical Lao motifs. Finally see the
sunset at Mekong riverside. Dinner at local restaurant.
Day 10 Vientiane - Luang Prabang
Transfer to airport for your flight
to Luang Prabang, Laos. After lunch at a local restaurant,
our afternoon city tour of this former Royal capital
will visit Wat Visoun, the site of the impressive Thad
Makmo stupa, then Phou Sii hill which stands right in
the centre of the small city. Climb its 350 steps to
enjoy commanding views. Wat Phou Sii sits atop the mountain,
alongside the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft
guns! Then continue to visit Wat Mai. Built in 1796,
the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) emphasizes
the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style. Wat
Xieng Thong is considered to emphasize & characterize
the uniqueness of Luang Prabang's local style: its several
roofs sweep low to the ground. The gilt panel on the
exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes
from the Ramayana; visit the National Museum, which
was once the king's palace and contains a collection
of personal artifacts of the former royal family, including
photos, musical instruments, and many gifts received
from dignitaries of foreign countries. Return to hotel.
Day 11 Pak-Ou-Ting Caves & Phanom Weaving
Village
After breakfast, begin a full day boat
trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the Pak Ou
Caves with their lacquered Buddha statues. Then make
a visit to the village of Ban Phanom where traditional
Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms &
the paper making factory. Return to hotel.
Day 12 Tad Khuang Sii Waterfall
After breakfast drive with your guide
by car to the Tad Khuang Sii waterfall. The falls cascade
over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet
into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here
has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral
content. You can climb the stairs and look down from
various high viewpoints on the way to the top! Enjoy
a picnic lunch in the afternoon and then return to the
hotel to relax or explore at your leisure. Luang Prabang
is a wonderful walking town.
Day 13 Luang Prabang - Plain of Jars
If you like, we can take you into the centre of Luang Prabang at 5:30 in the morning
to watch local people give food & rice to the hundreds of monks who line the street.
You can also give rice to the monks - your guide will provide sticky rice for you to give.
(This dawn tour is optional - a very early start!) Afterwards a stroll though the morning market before
returning to your hotel for breakfast. Today we travel by road to Xiengkhouang, which was devastated by
American bombing between 1964 and 1973 during Indochina War. The journey takes us
through beautiful rugged mountain scenery passing many hill tribe villages. En route, we stop at Sala Phoukhoun,
located on the top of hill, then a Hmong village at Ban Phouvieng, Ban Nongthang, Muangsuy and Thampra .
Upon arrival in Phonsavanh by late afternoon we transfer to our mountain lodge hotel.
Day 14 Plain of Jars - Vientiane
After breakfast, we headout the town to visit the "Plan of Jars", an
impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are littered
all over the plateau. Each of the mysterious jars is thought to have been made more than 2000 to 2500 years ago.
If time permits , we will visit the local central market, observing the daily lifestyle
and colorful traders before we catch the flight to Vientiane. Pick up & transfer to hotel
Day 15 Vientiane - Koh Samui
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Koh Samui.
Transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 16 - Day 20 Koh Samui
Relax on the beaches of beautiful Koh Samui.
Day 21 Departure
Transfer to airport for your flight
to Bangkok and connecting return flight to the UK, arriving
back early next morning.
