See and eat your way through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand with this 'cooks tour'..
In this two-week tour of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, the emphasis is firmly on food -
preparing it, cooking it and especially eating it!
Three half-day classes in Vietnamese, Khmer and Thai cooking and several trips to eating places where the
emphasis is firmly on the quality of the food will give you the true taste of Southeast Asia!
Departing London Heathrow on 17th March 2012
Day 1: (18-03-12) Arrival Ho Chi Minh City (L/D)
Arriving at Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), our guide will be at the airport to meet you and transfer you to
the Grand Hotel, in the heart of the city. After a break to freshen up, we
take lunch at a local restaurant and afterwards a tour of the city, including The Reunification Palace
(former Presidential Palace), Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Lam Son Square, Ben Thanh Market etc. as time permits.
In the evening, we take dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: (19-03-12) Ho Chi Minh City - Cooking Class (B/L)
This morning, after an early breakfast, our guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you
to our cooking school to take the first of our cookery classes.

After lunch, transfer back to the hotel and take the afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: (20-03-12) HCMC - My Tho - Can Tho (B/L)
Today we leave Ho Chi Minh City and drive deep into the Mekong Delta to My Tho, 2 hours south of HCMC,
where we embark on a traditional boat for a tour of the area. We visit the fishing port, see the fish farming villages
along Tan Long island and visit Vam Xep canal where various handicrafts are produced from products of the coconut tree.
Afterwards, we continue by horse and cart to Que Dua ecological village to see the honey bee farm, then take a
short walk to the fruit garden to enjoy fresh fruits, lemon honeybee tea, listen to traditional folk songs
of the South and then travel on a small rowing boat through natural coconut water canals.
After lunch on Phung Island, featuring the famous local dish 'Elephant Ear' Fish, we return to the wharf to
continue the road journey Can Tho (about 2 hours). Overnight in Can Tho at
the Victoria Can Tho.
Day 4: (21-03-12) Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
An early visit to Cai Rang floating market, one of the most typical floating markets of the Mekong Delta, before
heading back to the hotel for breakfast, After breakfast we depart for Ho Chi Minh City.by road. On arrival at Ho Chi Minh,
we check into hotel and remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 5: (22-03-12) Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap (Cambodia) (B/L/D)
Transfer to airport for the flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Our Cambodia guide will meet you and transfer
you to the Tara Angkor hotel. After lunch at a local restaurant, take a boat trip and enjoy the wonderful views of
Tonlesap Great Lake, and visit the beautiful Phnom Krom temple by the lake. Evening dinner is taken
at a local restaurant with traditional Cambodian dance performances on stage. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6: (23-03-12) Siem Reap/Angkor (B/L)
The antiquities of Angkor are on the agenda today, starting with the ancient royal capital of Angkor Thom: Bayon,
Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda, the Terrace of Elephants and Leper King and Taprohm temples. And visit the fabulous
Ta Prohm Temple which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees. After lunch we visit 7th World heritage
wonder, Angkor Wat until Sunset and Return to town.
Day 7: (24-03-12) Siem Reap - Cooking Class (B/D)
In the morning we visit the Ta Som, Ta Keo and Pre Rup temples. In the afternoon, we take a short course in
Khmer cuisine. An early trip to the market by tuk-tuk to buy the ingredients is followed by instruction in
preparation and cooking by a trained Cambodian chef. Of course, we enjoy the results for dinner!

Day 8: (25-03-12) Siem Reap - Bangkok (B/L/D)
Transfer to airport for the flight to Bangkok. Our Bangkok guide will meet you and transfer you to the
Silom Sirene hotel. Afterwards, we take a city tour of Bangkok which will include The Grand Palace, Funeral Hall, Wat Pra Kaew,
Wat Traimit, Wat Pho, Wat Benchamabopit and the temple of Dawn. In the evening, we take dinner at an open-air market restaurant,
Day 9: (26-03-12) Bangkok Cooking Class(B/L)
This morning is the last and final cookery class, this time in Thai cuisine.

Day 10: (27-03-12) Bangkok - Amphawa (B/L)
Leaving Bangkok, we drive to Amphawa and check in at our hotel. After lunch, we take a tour of the local
temples by boat.
Day 11: (28-03-12) Amphawa - Hua Hin (B/D)
This morning we visit Amphawa's famous floating market, then drive on to the seaside resort of Hua Hin.
Check in at the Baan Bayan Hotel, a charming old wooden seaside house.
Later that day, we visit Hua Hin's night market and outdoor dining street for dinner.
Day 12: (29-03-12) Hua Hin (B)
At leisure.
Day 13: (30-03-12) Hua Hin (B)
At leisure.
Day 14: (31-03-12) Hua Hin - Bangkok (B)
Drive back from Hua Hin to Bangkok for your return flight.

About this tour... Small group tours: Your tour group will not comprise more than 10 travellers. Price of the tour is £2490 per person, based on two persons sharing a twin/double room. Price may change due to variations in flight price/availability. Accommodation is in 3* and 4* hotels. Single travellers: Small group tours are particularly suitable for single travellers. If you wish, and if it is possible, we will match you with another suitable single traveller to share a twin room.
